Lithuanian Transport and Communications Minister Marius Skuodis has sent a letter of resignation to Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė.
"I sent it yesterday, but it will probably be registered under today's date," the minister told BNS on Monday morning.
Skuodis said last Thursday he was ready to step down and accept responsibility for the continuous transit of Belaruskali fertilisers via Lithuania despite the US sanctions.
He also expressed his regret over the existing situation and said Lithuania had no experience in implementing sanctions of such a scale.
Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis also handed in his resignation letter last Friday.
President Gitanas Nausėda is meeting with Ingrida Šimonytė on Monday to discuss the ministers' resignation letters and the Belarusian potash transit.
