Lithuania has confirmed 3,331 new coronavirus infections and 11 deaths from Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, the country's statistics office said on Wednesday morning.
This is the biggest number of new daily cases this year, with bigger numbers recorded only last December.
Of the 11 fatalities, all but one were not vaccinated or only partially vaccinated.
A total of 5,520 people have been vaccinated over the past 24 hours, including 1,956 with their first dose.
The total number of Covid-19 patients in hospitals has reached 1,669, including 157 ICU cases.
Some 17,000 molecular (PCR) tests for Covid-19 and 8,500 antigen tests have been performed over the past 24 hours.
The 14-day infection rate has risen to 1,186.6 per 100,000 people, and the seven-day percentage of positive tests has edged up to 13 percent.
A total of 5,511 people have died of Covid-19 in Lithuania so far.
