As of January 1, the fixed monthly health insurance contributions for the self-employed in Lithuania are going up from 64.5 to 72.45 euros per month.
Those who are working with the self-employed certificate (Individuali Veikla) and those with business licenses (Verslo Liudijimas) have to pay their monthly health insurance – Privalomasis Sveikatos Draudimas, or PSD – contributions.
People who do not work or study and are not registered with the Employment Service are also required to pay PSD.
The minimum monthly PSD contribution is calculated at a rate of 6.98 percent of the minimum monthly wage. Due to the minimum wage increase, PSD contributions have also gone up.
