Lithuania will spend 6 million euros as part of a 107.5-million-euro deal to procure air defences for Ukraine, the country’s Defence Ministry said on Wednesday.

The purchase is part of the first of five assistance packages planned by the UK-led International Fund for Ukraine (IFU), which also includes Norway, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, and Iceland. The fund totals 608 million euros.

Combat and surveillance drones for Ukraine bought as part of the first stage of the IFU acquisition are currently being manufactured and scheduled to be delivered to Ukraine later this summer.

The United Kingdom has committed to transfer additional 292 million euros to the fund shortly.
