Equipment for Russian warships may have been transported through Lithuania during Russia’s war against Ukraine, according to the Siena investigative journalism centre.
“According to Siena’s partners at The Insider, an independent Russian publication, Lithuania’s name was mentioned in one suspicious shipment, worth 443,000 euros, of diesel engine parts that passed through Lithuania in July last year.
The recipient of the shipment is said to be Kolomensky Zavod, a Russian company owned by Russian oligarchs Iskander Makhmudov and Andrei Bokarev. The company supplies diesel engines to the Russian Navy.
Kolomensky Zavod was reportedly supplied with engines and parts by companies from Germany, Austria, Poland and Lithuania, but the latter was only a stopover for a 19-tonne shipment, which was reportedly manufactured by RCM Estech of Switzerland.
The cargo passed through customs warehouses run by Daiva Kudarauskienė’s company last July. According to publicly available data, this company manages customs warehouses in Vilnius, Kirtimų Street. Kudarauskienė herself said she was not aware of any such cargo.
According to The Insider, a total of 25 European companies supplied suspicious goods to buyers linked to the Russian army.
