On Monday, the inaugural meeting of the International Expert Network Russia is taking place in the Lithuanian parliament Seimas.
Organised by the Lithuanian parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs as well as the Centre for Liberal Modernity, a German think tank, the conference aims to contribute to updating the European and transatlantic strategy vis-à-vis Russia, helping policymakers to restructure Europe’s Eastern policy in the context of the aggression against Ukraine, and bolstering European security.
Other topics to be discussed include the fight against populism, cyber-attacks and disinformation, and energy independence.
The event will be attended, in person or remotely, by politicians and diplomatic experts, including Ukraine’s former Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin, Daniel Fried, a former US diplomat who helped craft the country’s sanctions against Russia, and others.
