Lithuania has registered 2,104 new coronavirus infections and another 17 deaths from Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, the country's statistics office said on Thursday morning.
Another eight coronavirus-infected persons have died of other causes.
A total of 53,757 people have tested positive for the coronavirus in Lithuania since the start of the pandemic. Some 40,459 people are still ill with the virus and 12,655 have recovered.
The death toll from Covid-19 has reached 449, and 194 coronavirus-infected people have died of other causes.
Some 1,704 people infected with the virus are currently hospitalised, including 121 who are in intensive care. Out of the country's 665 ICU beds, 382 are now occupied.
Oxygen masks are required by 916 patients, while 75 have been placed on lung ventilators.
A total of 1,211,062 tests for Covid-19 have been carried out in Lithuania so far, including 11,312 over the past 24 hours.
There are currently about 3,200 coronavirus-infected medics in Lithuania, based on the latest figures from the country's National Public Health Centre (NVSC).
“A total of 4,486 cases involving healthcare specialists have been recorded since the start of the pandemic, and there are still some 3,200 ill medics," Greta Gargasienė of the NVSC told reporters on Thursday.
More than 90 percent of the cases among healthcare workers were recorded in September-October.
