Kelias į laisvę
Prieš daugiau kaip tris dešimtmečius vykę Roko maršai, taikūs Lietuvos žmonių protestai turėjo galingą tautos žadinimo bei cenzūros neigimo užtaisą ir vidinį žmonių laisvėjimą susiejo su valstybės laisvės idėja, kurios sutrypti buvo nebeįmanoma. Šia kalbančia istorija pasakojame mūsų kelią į laisvę, kuriuo vieningai žengdami atkūrėme Lietuvos nepriklausomybę. Šią virtualią garso ekskursiją sudaro 11 stotelių, kurios žymi lemtingus Lietuvos kelio į laisvę įvykius – nuo pirmojo 1987-aisiais per Lietuvą nuvilnijusio Roko maršo iki vilniečių džiaugsmo akyse, kai miesto aikštėje virto Lenino skulptūra. Prisiminkime istoriją, kurią šiandien turime dar stipriau branginti.

The path to freedom. Declaration of Independence| Supreme Council – Reconstituent Seimas (11/03/1990)
The real restoration of the independence of Lithuania took place after the democratic election of the Lithuanian Parliament.
After 50 years of occupation, the first free elections were held in February 1990, in still-annexed Lithuania. The purpose of the Lithuanian Supreme Soviet was, through parliamentary means, to abolish the annexation and publicly declare Lithuania as an independent state.
The newly elected Supreme Council made important decisions for the restoration of independence. Three meetings were organized. They took place on the 10th and 11th of March 1990. All of them were broadcasted live on Lithuanian radio and television.
The meetings on the historic 11th of March lasted almost 15 hours. During them, the President and the Presidium of the Supreme Council were elected, also, the powers of the President of the Council of Ministers were confirmed, and the most important document - the Act of the Re-Establishment of the State of Lithuania, was adopted. At 10:44 in the evening, Results of the historic vote were announced by Vytautas Landsbergis, the new Chair of the Supreme Council.
Thus, having gathered as members of the Lithuanian Supreme Soviet in the first meeting, they left as members of the democratic parliament of the Republic of Lithuania and signatories of the Declaration of Independence by the end of the third meeting.
