MP Julius Veselka passed away of a heart attack

An unfortunate event occurred yesterday just as the Ziniu Radijas (News Radio) was preparing to interview MP Julius Veselka. He passed away right before going live on air, after several attempts from doctors to revive him. Paramedics were called to the scene after MP Veselka fainted.

An unfortunate event occurred yesterday just as the Ziniu Radijas (News Radio) was preparing to interview MP Julius Veselka. He passed away right before going live on air, after several attempts from doctors to revive him. Paramedics were called to the scene after MP Veselka fainted.

MP Veselka was a member of the Order and Justice party. Party leader, Rolandas Paksas commented to BNS that Veselka died from a heart attack. The MP was re-elected to the Seimas last October and planned to chair the Economic Committee.

He was born in Ukmerge district on February 8th, 1943 and graduated from Vilnius University. He held a degree in economics. After Lithuania’s independence in 1990, he worked for the Ministry of Economy and had been an MP since 1992.

The MP was married and leaves a daughter and a son.
