Lithuanian Maritime Museum welcomes back its dolphins who returned from Greece where they had to spend three years, because of reconstruction works at the museum.

A renewed Maritime Museum will commemorate 20th anniversary and offers a new dolphin show to its visitors.

The show is planned for 21st December. This is the date from 20 years ago when dolphin shows started in Lithuania. The first show was accompanied by Lithuanian pop music stars.

This time dolphins will perform alone, but they will be seen much better in a renewed pool. Spectators will watch them not only on the surface, but also under water.

Dolphins will show new acts they have learnt in Greece while waiting for the completion of reconstruction.

A special ferry will take visitors from Klaipeda City to the museum.

OLGA ZALIENE, Director of Klaipeda Maritime Museum:
We chose 21st December, because 20 years ago we presented the very first, maybe not such a successful show – we had only few dolphins at the time. We tried to create a visual effect with the smoke, and maybe not everyone in the public could see dolphins because of that smoke.

TOMAS LEBECKIS, couch of the dolphins:
We have 5 to 6 trainings daily, so that it would not become boring and “artists” would grasp the rhythm.
