Residents of Suwalki have noticed that prices in their supermarkets are rising. Despite that, Lithuanian shoppers continue to go to the Polish town some 25 kilometres from the border for shopping sprees. They say it still pays off to go to Poland for groceries rather than do the shopping at home – especially if one spends 700 to 1,000 litas (200-300 euros) at a time.
