Soundbite (Polish)

General MIECZYSLAW GOCUL, Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces:
(on LITPOLUKRBRIG)We are at the end of this path to establish joint brigade. I think that it could come into function by the end of the year, but of course everything depends on technical details. I think one year from signing the technical part should be enough.

Soundbite (Lithuanian)

Major General JONAS VYTAUTAS ŽUKAS, Chief of Defence of Lithuania:
Polish chief of the army wants that brigade not for parades, but as a real force joining some UN missions. We talk here only about UN missions, and no other military operations.

Soundbite (Polish)

General MIECZYSLAW GOCUL, Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces:
(on “little green men”) Troops must be ready for bad weather. (Cutaway translation) Following today's meeting and based on the information from the Joint Staff of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, (pause for translation) I have no doubt that both the Lithuanian and Polish armed forces are ready for that.

Soundbite (Lithuanian)

Major General JONAS VYTAUTAS ŽUKAS, Chief of Defence of Lithuania:
We have, as you may know, our own rapid reaction force, launched  a year ago, and from 1st November  we have 2500 soldiers on duty, who are ready to act in 24 hours’ time, in any place in Lithuania. We are ready and serious.
