Lithuanians' trust in e-government services growing

A study commissioned by the Information Society Development Committee under the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Lithuania on Lithuanian e-government services revealed that electronic declarations and electronic applications were the most popular form of electronic communication between Lithuanian government agencies and citizens in 2014, the ministry said.  

A study commissioned by the Information Society Development Committee under the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Lithuania on Lithuanian e-government services revealed that electronic declarations and electronic applications were the most popular form of electronic communication between Lithuanian government agencies and citizens in 2014, the ministry said.

"The results of the study show that citizen's trust in electronic services offered by the governmental agencies, as well as their quality, is growing. Up to 82 percent of the e-government gateway users evaluated the services positively," said Tomas Karpavičius, the chancellor of the Ministry of Transport and Communications.

In 2014, 15 percent of the country's population used electronic declarations and applications, or 6 percent more than in the last quarter of 2013.

At the end of 2014, 32 percent of country's population (45 percent of internet users) visited government websites. During the year, this indicator grew by 5 percent.
