According to the report, Lithuania still buys training ammunition from Russia, and the munitions are largely used for reloading weapons after jamming. Experts maintain the munitions damage the weapons.
Defence Minister Juozas Olekas has confirmed that two acquisitions of the Russian munitions were made lately.
LNK also said that the Lithuanian Army also buy Russian fuel – the Russian-capital company Lukoil recently won a 4 million litas (EUR 1.2 mln) fuel supply competition.
Olekas stated that other companies “failed to offer better conditions, especially in terms of prices.”
