MEP Vytautas Landsbergis urged the people of Lithuania, who feel that they were misinformed regarding the referendum on a ban on land sale to foreigners, to recall their signatures, reports Šarūnas Černiauskas of www.delfi.lt.

MEP Vytautas Landsbergis urged the people of Lithuania, who feel that they were misinformed regarding the referendum on a ban on land sale to foreigners, to recall their signatures, reports Šarūnas Černiauskas of www.delfi.lt.

Landsbergis stressed that when signatures were collected people were not informed how the referendum could affect Lithuania’s membership in the European Union; therefore, many people feel deceived.

“While the Central Elections Commission is in disarray on the anti-European and anti-constitutional referendum, (…) people start to realise what awaits Lithuania in case if the ‘national socialism’, that is nationalists, win,” V. Landsbergis told DELFI.

“Not one person has already claimed to have been mislead, fallen victim to patriotic talks when signing the petition, not having read attentively the text of the petition to the end, and failed to think about Lithuania’s EU membership,” continued the MEP.

Thus, Landsbergis urged the people who feel to have been misinformed or deceived to recall their signatures as soon as possible.
