Lithuania’s Land Force, Special Operations Force (SOF) and Naval Force troops are taking part in NATO’s Neptune Strike 2024-2 joint deterrence operation in the Baltic Sea.
During the part of the operation in Lithuania’s territorial waters, joint fire support control specialists from the General Romualdas Giedraitis Artillery Battalion and the SOF coordinated air strikes by Germany’s Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets on targets in the Baltic Sea, the Lithuanian Armed Forces said in a press release on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the Lithuanian Navy’s ships P12 Dzūkas and N42 Jotvingis conducted live firing against surface targets using 76-millimeter and 40-millimeter artillery.
Neptune Strike 2024-2 is running across Europe, in operational areas stretching from the Mediterranean and Adriatic Seas to the North and Baltic Seas, from October 24 to 31.

Lithuanian troops are taking part in the exercise on October 29 and 30.
The deterrence operation is led by the Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO (strikfornato) and involves a total of 17 NATO nations with warships and aircraft.
