“Dear Rūta, you spared no efforts while swimming for Lithuania and claimed the silver victory which the whole country is celebrating. You won gold and silver medals and set two world records, overcoming your very strong rivals. All Lithuania wins together with you,” the President wrote in her message of congratulations.
According to the President, Rūta Meilutytė’s brilliant performance in Barcelona has proved that she is one of the best swimmers on the planet, surprising the world with her strength, stamina, concentration and new records.
The President wished Rūta always to be with Lithuania, maintain unshakable persistence and feel warm support of Lithuanian people while seeking new impressive victories in the future.
