Last year, the average wage before taxes in Lithuania grew by 12.6 percent to 2,000 euros and by 11.4 percent to 1,250 euros after taxes, the State Data Agency reported.
“The increase in wages in 2023 was influenced by an increase in the base salary for state politicians, judges, state officials, civil servants, and employees of budget institutions, an increase in the minimum monthly salary, changes in the procedure for calculating the non-taxable income, and other reasons,” the agency said.
In the public sector, average pre-tax salaries stood at 2,100 euros, up by 13.1 percent, while in the private sector, they stood at 1,970 euros, up by 12.4 percent.
Average pre-tax wages grew in all economic activities, with the highest growth in administrative and service activities (22.7 percent) and the lowest growth in real estate activities (5 percent).
