Germany will deploy a Patriot long-range air defence system to Lithuania to help protect NATO's summit in Vilnius in mid-July.
In a statement on Friday, the German Defence Ministry said the country would move its Patriot units from Slovakia and supporting elements from Poland to Lithuania.
Germany will also provide other land, air and sea-based assets to help secure the summit in Vilnius scheduled for July 11-12, according to the statement.
