A port to be built in Juodkrantė on the Curonian Spit plans to service around 80 ships, the Nergina Municipality said in a press release.
The new marina is being designed as an island, with a similar size to the existing passenger ship marina.
The existing quays of the marina will be reconstructed with additional infrastructure. Additional open spaces will also be built onsite.
The new port comes amid plans to connect towns in the Curonian Spit with Klaipėda and the Lithuanian mainland via regular public water transport routes.
