For the first time, Finland and Sweden will take part in this week's NATO Crisis Management Exercise 2023 in their new status as invitees.
The exercise will take place March 9 to 15 and will involve civilian and military stafs in Lithuania and other NATO allies, the Lithuanian government said in a press release.
According to the government, the drills CMX 2023 will not involve deployed forces, but will include complex civil-military scenarios set in a hybrid environment.
The exercise will also include staff-to-staff exchanges with the European External Action Service, the European Commission and the General Secretariat of the Council of the European Union.
Such exercises have been held since 1992.
