False reports claim bombs in Vilnius schools

False reports about explosives in public places continue as, on Tuesday, the police received a message about alleged bomb threats in all the schools of Vilnius.

“We are checking all schools in the capital city, no suspicious objects have been found so far,” Vilnius police spokeswoman Julija Samorokovskaja told BNS.

A bomb threat was also alleged at the office of the online newspaper 15min.lt. It has not been confirmed either.

“It is obvious that there is a systematic activity, because in a couple of days a lot of letters are being sent, but they are all false,” Police Department spokesman Ramūnas Matonis told BNS earlier.

On Monday, bomb threats were sent to Lithuanian airports, Vilnius municipality and one school in the capital city.

According to Matonis, the police do not yet know who is behind the messages.

“I would not like to speculate before it is clear,” he said.
