Loftas Fest 2013 continues to reveal its special guest list. Last week it was officially announced that the famous dubstep, electro rock creators Modestep from the United Kingdom will be among those opening this summer in Vilnius, reported www.delfi.lt.

“At the moment the band is rocking its US tour. The tour finishes at the end of this month in the all artists’ dream venue – the Coachella Festival,” commented the musician and producer Victor Diawara, who has invited the band to the festival.

The UK band of four (two of whom are brothers) has built up its name in the homeland back in 2011 with the release of its hit dubstep single Sunlight, which has reached the top in all music charts, including the BBC Radio 1. The song has had over 24 million downloads on YouTube.

Since then Modestep has been in huge demand by festival organisers in the UK, followed by a high interest from their counterparts in Europe and the rest of the world. Having reached the top in foreign lands, this summer the band comes back to Europe, where they will introduce their debut album Evolution Theory (2013).

While the Modestep brothers Tony and Josh Friend remain on good terms (considering the legendary fall-outs of such bands as The Kinks, The Jesus & Mary Chain and Oasis, all of which were also formed around a core of two brothers, who knows how long it may last), Lithuanian youths are invited to come and see the energetic band’s performance for themselves.

For those in constant search of novelty and inspiration, the festival, which is unique in its format not only within Lithuania, but also in the neighbouring countries – is the perfect way to relax.

The festival will not only bring the most up-to-date music, but also provide spaces for entertainment. The current line-up includes such world known names as Toro Y Moi (USA), FM Belfast (Iceland), MUM (Iceland), and Modestep (UK).

The venues of the festival will hold a skateboard ramp, several clubbing zones, art workshops, and coffee areas. In addition, the daytime program will also include a film zone and a creative industries’ conference: ‘What’s Next’ – more information on this will follow soon.

The main outdoor scene will be complemented by several smaller indoor scenes. The Festival will take place during the first summer weekend – when it is still too cold for camping, but is perfect for spending time outdoors, followed by wild parties in a number of lofts at night.
