Coronavirus: Lithuania reports 1,982 new cases, 10 deaths

Lithuania has confirmed 1,982 new coronavirus infections and 10 deaths from Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, the country's statistics office said on Wednesday morning.

Seven of the fatalities were either not vaccinated or only partially vaccinated.

A total of 17,164 people have been vaccinated over the past 24 hours, including 1,922 with their first dose.

The total number of Covid-19 patients in Lithuania's hospitals has declined by around 20 to 1,306, including 130 ICU cases.

Over 17,400 molecular (PCR) tests for Covid-19 and 4,200 antigen tests have been performed over the past 24 hours.

The 14-day infection rate has edged up to 857.1 per 100,000 people, and the seven-day percentage of positive tests has been 12.7 percent.

A total of 484,500 people in Lithuania have tested positive for Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic. The death toll has reached almost 6,900.
