Coronavirus: Lithuania reports 2,015 new cases, 12 deaths

Lithuania has confirmed 2,015 new coronavirus infections and 12 deaths from Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, the country's statistics office said on Wednesday morning.

Seven of the fatalities were either not vaccinated or only partially vaccinated.

A total of 14,968 people have been vaccinated over the past 24 hours, including 2,127 with their first dose. Overall, 66.4 percent of the population have been vaccinated at least once.

The total number of Covid-19 patients in Lithuania's hospitals stands at 1,454, down by about 50 from the day before, including 132 ICU cases.

Some 14,200 molecular (PCR) tests for Covid-19 and 6,500 antigen tests have been performed over the past 24 hours.

Lithuania's 14-day infection rate has fallen to 945 per 100,000 people, continuing its downward trend for the third week, and the seven-day percentage of positive tests has inched up to 10 percent.
