Lithuania has confirmed 3,058 new coronavirus infections and 28 deaths from Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, the country's statistics office said on Thursday morning.
Twenty-one of the fatalities were either not vaccinated or only partially vaccinated.
A total of 6,936 people have been vaccinated over the past 24 hours, including 2,364 with their first dose. So far, 63.9 percent of the population have been vaccinated at least once.
The total number of Covid-19 patients in Lithuania's hospitals is now 1,690, up by 20 from yesterday, including 154 ICU cases. During the peak of the pandemic last January, Lithuania's hospitals were treating some 2,600 people with Covid-19.
Some 16,900 molecular (PCR) tests for Covid-19 and 8,600 antigen tests have been performed over the past 24 hours.
The 14-day infection rate has risen to 1,226.7 per 100,000 people, and the seven-day percentage of positive tests has edged up to 13.2 percent.
A total of 5,544 people have died of Covid-19 in Lithuania so far.
