Polish President Andrzej Duda will pay an official two-day visit to Lithuania next week, the Lithuanian presidential office announced on Friday.

"The visit will be aimed at marking the 230th anniversary of the Constitution of May 3," the presidential press service said.

The first sitting of the bilateral Presidential Council, established in 2020, will be held during the visit. It will focus on regional security and defense, bolstering transatlantic relations, fighting irregular migrants, as well as cooperation in the areas of the Eastern Partnership, economy, education and culture.

Following the council sitting, the two leaders will address the Lithuanian Seimas.

Signed on May 3, 1791, the Constitution of May 3 is the first written constitution in Europe and the second written constitution in the world.
