Lithuania has registered 2,861 new coronavirus infections and 28 deaths from Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, the country's statistics office said on Thursday morning.
This is the highest daily count since late December 2020, when the country reported over 3,200 new coronavirus infections.
Twenty-four of the latest fatalities were either not vaccinated or only partially vaccinated.
A total of 5,786 people have been vaccinated over the past 24 hours, including 2,139 with their first dose.
The total number of Covid-19 patients in hospitals has increased to 1,511, including 156 ICU cases.
Some 15,900 molecular (PCR) tests for Covid-19 and 8,500 antigen tests have been performed over the past 24 hours.
The 14-day infection rate has risen to 1,038.7 per 100,000 people, and the seven-day percentage of positive tests has gone up to 11.5 percent.
A total of 5,349 people have died of Covid-19 in Lithuania so far.
