On Monday, Lithuanian border guards turned away 121 migrants attempting to cross into the country from Belarus. This was the highest number since August 25, when 155 people were pushed back.
The number of irregular crossing attempts jumped from 39 on Sunday and 56 on Saturday. No migrants were allowed to enter Lithuania in the past 24 hours, the State Border Guard Service (VSAT) reported.
Almost 4,200 irregular migrants, mostly Iraqi citizens, have crossed into Lithuania from Belarus so far this year.
