Lithuania's national public broadcaster, LRT, was awarded as the country's most loved media brand at the Baltic Brand Forum 2021. The awards, announced on September 24, also ranked LRT as the most humane brand in Lithuania.
In the Most Loved Media Brand Category, LRT was number one in Lithuania. LRT.lt ranked third in the same category.
“Every day, LRT staff put all their heart into the mission of the public broadcaster: quality journalism, engaging cultural content, meaningful entertainment, educational programming. Therefore, the most loved media brand award is not only a pleasant achievement for LRT, it is an inspiration for further work,” said Rūta Putnikienė, LRT's head of communication.
“The online news service LRT.lt being included into the top 5 shows that people of Lithuania need high-standard journalism: reliable, professional, objective news, a wide range of opinions, a focus on education, culture, social problems,” she added.
Founded in 2004, the Baltic Brand Forum awards the best brands in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia in seven categories: the most loved brand, the greenest brand, the most humane brand, the fastest growing brand, the unique brand, the most loved media brand, and the most loved food producer. Each category lists brands in each country and in the Baltics as a whole.
The results are derived from surveying 2,805 people from the three countries.
Lithuania's public broadcaster runs three TV channels – LRT TELEVIZIJA, LRT PLIUS, LRT LITUANICA – three radio stations – LRT RADIJAS, LRT KLASIKA, LRT OPUS – and the online news service LRT.lt.
