Lithuanian Television visited the room designed for emotional discharge visited by those who want to blow off their negative emotions or simply feel the adrenaline rush by way of destroying things.

There are just  a few rules in the room built for destroying – choose your favourite stick, put on a helmet and then let yourself destroy everything around, once the music starts to play.

The room is called ‘Discharge’ and it was opened in Lithuanian capital Vilnius by Karolis Sčerbauskas. As Lithuania tops suicide rankings and usually lags behind in various happiest countries polls Karolis hoped to build this business on those who do not know how to discharge their anger or negative emotions, in a safe way.

‘I thought people will come to leave behind their negative emotions, and so I named the room ‘Discharge’, but when people started to come, I saw that they are quite happy, they do not have any problems. Most of them just seek to have a good time’, says Karolis Scerbauskas.

He says that the entertainment is very successful among those who organize bachelor parties before marriage. Thousands of plates and cups have already been smashed in his Discharge room.

‘Probably every woman dreams about smashing a cup at the wall, here and then, and I had an opportunity to do so’, says Asta who tried herself to destroy things in the room.

‘Lots of adrenaline, I feel very emotional and discharged’, says Oksana.

KAROLIS SČERBAUSKAS, owner:

I thought people will come to leave all their negative emotions behind, and that’s why I named the room ‘Discharge’. But when people started to come, I saw that they are quite happy, they do not have any problems. Most of them just seek to have good time, not to discharge, but on the contrary to charge. You get lots of adrenaline, you come already happy, but you leave even happier.

OKSANA:

Lots of adrenaline, I feel very emotional and discharged. I came well prepared, to tell the truth. I thought about what annoyed me these days. So every negative thought went away with its own plate.

I came here without any anger, I just wanted to try a new kind of entertainment and I was not disappointed. Yes, it’s great – that surge of energy and adrenalin.
