On Monday, mandatory testing for Covid-19 is coming into force for people in sectors including catering and public administration.
They will be required to test regularly for Covid-19 unless they have been vaccinated or have recovered from the coronavirus. Sectors falling under the new rules include the armed forces, public administration, cargo and passenger carriers, entertainment, culture and public catering workers, as well as people who work with migrants.
All of them will have to get tested every seven to ten days. If a person refuses, they can be legally put on unpaid leave.
According to the Health Ministry, some workers require to undergo testing when they are still abroad. In those cases, mandatory tests only have to be done within 48 hours of return to Lithuania.
