BNS 2021.02.15 13:21

On Monday, Lithuania's Health Ministry said it had updated the existing Covid-19 vaccination plan and now plans to start mass vaccination of people in the spring.

The vaccination of people over 65 and those with chronic diseases will start in March, while mass vaccination of people should be started in April.

The plan was revised taking into account the vaccine delivery plans presented by AstraZeneca, BioNTech-Pfizer, and Moderna.

"If the vaccine manufacturers ensure stable vaccine deliveries, [...] the vaccination of all people over 65 will start in the first quarter of this year and mass vaccination will start in the spring," the ministry said.

Besides the already vaccinated groups, kindergarten workers, special needs specialists, cancer patients, people infected with HIV, and people over 75 will also receive the jab in February.
