On Tuesday, Lithuania registered 1,921 new cases of Covid-19 and 78 deaths from the coronavirus, the highest daily count since the beginning of the pandemic.
The youngest person to die of Covid-19 was aged 40–49. Most deaths, 33, were recorded in the 80–89 age group.
In all, 1,347 people in Lithuania have died of Covid-19, including 669 coronavirus-infected patients who have died of other causes.
Some 65,784 people are still ill with the virus and 66,485 have recovered, including 4,146 over the past 24 hours.
The country has done 1,598,754 tests for Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic, including 10,344 over the past day.
