Lithuania has one of Europe’s highest Covid-19 testing rates per 100,000 people, the Health Ministry said on Monday, citing data from the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).
Lithuania and Estonia are among the countries where testing rates on November 9–15 ranged between 2,500 and 4,999 per 100,000 people. Latvia's rate was in the 1,000–2,499 range.
A total of 1,267,700 tests for Covid-19 have been carried out in Lithuania so far, according to the latest figures released by the National Public Health Centre on Monday.
The Health Ministry also said that Lithuania is currently considering reviewing its testing strategy and prioritising nursing and care homes with the highest number of at-risk individuals and hospitals that have reported outbreaks of the coronavirus.
