On Tuesday, Lithuania recorded 1,192 new cases of Covid-19 and six deaths from the virus.
Another four coronavirus-infected persons have died of other causes over the past 24 hours. The total death toll from Covid-19 has reached 392, while 158 coronavirus-infected people have died of other causes.
A total of 48,226 people have tested positive for the coronavirus in Lithuania since the start of the pandemic. Some 36,644 people are still ill with the virus and 11,032 have recovered.
Out of the new cases, 364 were registered in Kaunas County, 213 in Vilnius County, 160 in Šiauliai County, 149 in Klaipėda County, 87 in Alytus County, 71 in Telšiai County, 71 in Panevėžys County, 42 in Marijampolė County, 23 in Tauragė County, and two in Utena County.
The biggest clusters have been recorded in social care homes, as well as medical and educational instutions. A new breakout has also been registered in Šatrija sewing company in Raseiniai, where eight workers have become infected.
Meanwhile, 120 of the new cases are linked to breakouts among households.
Some 1,629 people ill with the virus are hospitalised, including 126 who are in intensive care.
The country has since June 1 registered 519 cases of coronavirus infection contracted abroad.
A total of 1,267,700 tests for Covid-19 have been carried out in Lithuania so far, including 4,427 over the past 24 hours.
