Twenty-six new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Lithuania over the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 3,004, the Health Ministry said on Friday morning.
Eleven cases are connected to known clusters, seven infections have been contracted abroad – in Poland, Russia, Sweden, and Belarus – and four people have become ill after coming in contact with an infected person. Circumstances surrounding four new cases are currently unclear.
Five new cases have been confirmed at Kęstutis Motorised Infantry Battalion in Tauragė Region. Thirty-two cases are considered linked to the cluster.
Most other clusters are connected with outbreaks at workplaces, including Intersurgical in Utena Country, Elmoris in Vilnius, Montuotojas, Energomazgas in Vilnius region, and Interscalit in Šiauliai.
In all, 985 are still ill with Covid-19 and 1,920 have recovered.
Eighty-six people have died of Covid-19 in the country so far, and another 13 coronavirus-infected patients have died of other causes.
Some 4,593 people are currently in isolation.
The country has since June 1 registered 204 cases of coronavirus infection contracted abroad.
A total of 658,662 tests have been carried out in Lithuania so far, including 4,918 over the past 24 hours.
