Eighteen new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Lithuania over the past 24 hours, bringing the country's total count to 2,283, the Health Ministry said on Tuesday morning.
Three of the new reported infections were contracted abroad. A person returned to Lithuania from the Netherlands, another one from Spain. The third case is a foreign worker employed at a logistics company in Kaunas who arrived in Lithuania from Ukraine.
Four cases, diagnosed in Kaunas, have been linked to an outbreak at a popular bar, Adform Kiemelis. The National Public Health Centre (NVSC) says that people who visited the bar since August 5 could have been exposed to the virus.
In Vilnius, an employee of the National Opera and Ballet Theatre has been diagnosed with Covid-19, the sixth case linked to the cluster.
Another case in Vilnius has been linked to a bar on Vilniaus Street, the third infection contracted to the place.
Public health officials are still trying to trace the source of two infections, in Kaunas County and Vilnius, the NVSC said.
There are currently 510 active Covid-19 cases in the country, while 1,679 people have recovered.
Eighty-one people have died of Covid-19 in Lithuania so far, and another 13 coronavirus-infected patients have died of other causes.
At the moment, 3,088 people are in isolation, including those diagnosed with the coronavirus, people who had contact with them and travelers subject to the two-week self-quarantine requirement.
Over Monday, 4,269 people were tested for Covid-19 in Lithuania.
