Poles in Vilnius back opposition candidate in presidential election

More Polish voters in Vilnius backed Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski in Sunday's presidential election, and he will now face incumbent President Andrzej Duda in the second round of voting.

A total of 231 people voted in Vilnius over the weekend, the Polish Embassy in Vilnius told BNS, with 91 going for the liberal mayor of Warsaw, and 77 for Duda.

Well-known journalist Szymon Hołownia came in third with 34 votes.

With 90 percent of the votes counted, Duda leads with 45 percent, Trzaskowski is second with almost 29 percent and Holownia was the third with around 14 percent of votes.
