Coronavirus: Lithuania confirms 6 new cases

Six new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Lithuania in the past 24 hours, bringing the country's total count to 1,511, the Health Ministry said on Thursday morning.

Based on the latest statistics, 934 people are considered to have recovered, 517 are active cases, and 260 people are in isolation.

Fifty-four people have died of Covid-19 in the country so far, and another six coronavirus-infected patients have died of other causes.

A total of 208,253 tests for the coronavirus have been carried out, including 7,989 on Wednesday.

The Lithuanian government on Wednesday announced further easing of quarantine restrictions. Wearing a facemask in outdoor public places is now a recommendation rather than requirement. Wearing one in public transport, shops and other indoor public places is still required, howerer.
