Six new coronavirus cases were diagnosed in Lithuania over Monday, the country's National Public Health Centre said on Tuesday morning.
Lithuania's total Covid-19 infection count currently stands at 1,491. Of them, 850 people have recovered, while 587 remain active cases.
So far, 50 people have died from the coronavirus. Four more people who had the disease died from other causes, according to the Centre.
Over Monday, 5,821 people were tested for Covid-19, the Centre said.
“There are currently 105 hospitalised people, 12 of them are in intensive care units, five on ventilators, and 41 with oxygen masks,” Rolanda Lingienė of the National Public Health Centre told reporters on Tuesday.
Death at Vilnius hospital
A patient has died of the coronavirus at Vilnius City Clinical Hospital, the National Public Health Centre announced.
“We received information about the death of a patient at Vilnius City Clinical Hospital's Internal Diseases Unit. That information has been received officially and will be included into tomorrow's statistics,” Lingienė told reporters on Tuesday.
Earlier in the day, she told BNS that two residents of a nursing home in Antaviliai, near Vilnius, had died of the coronavirus. They have not yet been added to the official statistics either.
