Coronavirus: 5 new infections in Lithuania, recoveries exceed active cases 2020.05.07 11:04

Another five coronavirus cases were confirmed in Lithuania over Wednesday, bringing the country's total count to 1,433, the Health Ministry said on Thursday morning.

According to the latest data, 739 people have recovered from the disease while 642 are still considered active cases.

By Thursday morning, 49 infected people have died from Covid-19. Three more people had the virus, but died from other causes.

In all, 164,088 tests for Covid-19 have been carried out in the country so far, including 7,597 on Wednesday. The backlog of untested samples stood at 1,665.

On Wednesday, the Lithuanian government decided to extend the coronavirus quarantine until May 31, while gradually lifting some restrictions.
