Twenty-seven new coronavirus infections were confirmed in Lithuania over Friday, bringing the total to 1,026. Another person died after contracting Covid-19, the Health Ministry said on Saturday morning.
Lithuanua's coronavirus death toll stands at 23, rising by six over the last 24 hours. The latest victim passed away in Kaunas. According to the Health Ministry, the person belonged to a risk group, meaning they were of an advanced age or had chronic health conditions.
On Friday, 2,421 people were tested for Covid-19. Since the beginning of the epidemic, Lithuania has carried out 37,472 tests.
Currently, 130 people with Covid-19 are treated in hospitals, 14 of them are in intensive care and nine require ventilators, according to the ministry.
A new shipment of protective gear reached Lithuania on Saturday morning. Respirators, protective goggles, single-use clothing and facemasks will be delivered to the country's health workers.
