Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda has wished China a happy new year “filled with peace, prosperity, and health”.
Nausėda tweeted on Tuesday, “wishing all #Chinese people and President Xi Jinping a Happy Chinese New Year filled with peace, prosperity, and health. #CNY2020".

Meanwhile, Chinese authorities have extended the holiday period in an attempt to curtail travel and limit the spread of coronavirus that has already claimed over 100 lives.
A number of Chinese cities remain on lockdown.
