Partisan Kentra-Aušra nominated for Freedom Prize in Lithuania

Albinas Kentra-Aušra, a living anti-Soviet partisan and a chronicler of the Lithuanian Atgimimas (Revival) movement and a chevalier of the Order of the Cross of Vytis, has been nominated for the annual Freedom Prize in Lithuania.

The decision was made on Thursday by the Lithuanian Seimas' Freedom Prize Commission.

In total, seven undisclosed people were nominated for the price. The winner is selected by a special commission and the final decision is made by the Seimas.

The Freedom Prize of 5,000 eurosm established on September 15, 2011, is bestowed during a solemn ceremony on Lithuania's Defenders of Freedom Day on January 13.
