Adamkus has confirmed to that his wife is being treated in Santaros Clinics in Vilnius.

“The doctors are optimistic, they hope that there won't be any serious effects,” Adamkus told on Monday afternoon. “She is not under any special treatment, she is being observed and, one should hope, everything will be ok.”

Adamkienė is currently fully conscious, Adamkus added. Doctors are performing tests.

The 92-year-old former first lady was briefly hospitalized a few weeks ago due to issues with blood vessels.

Adamkus was Lithuania's president in 1998-2003 and 2004-2009.
