International photography festival running since 1973 returns to Lithuania's Nida 2019.09.08 11:00

NIDA International Photography Symposium, one of the biggest and most important photography-related events in the Baltics, returns to Lithuania’s pine-and-dune coastline on September 9-15.

This year’s participants include the artists Mathieu Asselin, Paulina Eglė Pukytė, Justinas Vilutis, Emilija Škarnulytė, Agnė Kučinskaitė and others, according to a press release.

The programme will consist of lectures by Elina Kempele, Adam Mazur, Agnė Narušytė and Valentinas Klimašauskas, as well as panel discussions, workshops, screenings and a photobook market.

Organised since 1973, the symposium has become a well-known event in the region and beyond for combining lectures, artists’ talks, workshops and exhibitions with a relaxed atmosphere in a unique setting in a former fishing village by the Baltic Sea.

NIDA International Photography Symposium 2019 is organised by the Lithuanian Photographers Association.

Nida is a unique resort town on the Curonian Spit, wedged between the Baltic Sea and the Curonian Lagoon. Busy with tourists during the summer, it returns to its usual calm in September. Nida and the surrounding pine forests and sand dunes are home to white-tailed eagles, foxes, hares, moose and wild boar.
