The Lithuanian Judicial Council approved the dismissal of three judges suspected in a large-scale judicial corruption probe, Algimantas Valantinas, its chairman, said on Friday.
The three judges are Egidijus Laužikas of the Supreme Court, Konstantinas Gurinas of the Court of Appeals and Henrichas Jaglinskis of Vilnius Regional Court.
The Council did not, however, allow to remove Viktoras Kazys of the Court of Appeals and Robertas Rainys of Vilnius City District Court from office.
The Council postponed its decision on the sacking of the remaining three judges suspected in the case – Arūnas Kaminskas of Vilnius Regional Administrative Court, Valdimaras Bavejanas of the Court of Appeals and Gintaras Čekanauskas of Kaunas District Administrative Court – until the end of August.
