Saulius Skvernelis, Lithuania's acting prime minister, has said that his new cabinet will not include at least three current ministers: of communication, the interior, and agriculture.
Rokas Masiulis, the acting minister of communication, will lose the post which has been promised to the Electoral Action of Poles party in the new coalition agreement.
“The candidate that they [the Electoral Action of Poles] have suggested is, I see, a professional, suitable, and qualified person,” Skvernelis said on Tuesday.
Asked which current ministers will not be in his new cabinet, Skvernelis also named Minister of the Interior Eimutis Misiūnas and Minister of Agriculture Giedrius Surplys.
Skvernelis' government returned their powers to the newly-inaugurated President Gitanas Nausėda in mid-July. His re-appointment is to be finalized this week, after which Skvernelis will present candidates for his cabinet of ministers.
The Lithuanian Farmers and Greens Union, the biggest party in the Lithuanian parliament, has signed a coalition agreement with three other parties: the Electoral Action of Poles, the Social Democratic Labour Party, and the Order and Justice party.
