Lithuania on Sunday sent seven liaison officers to Iraq, doubling its contribution to the ongoing missions.
The officers will perform tasks within the NATO-led international mission in Iraq, the Ministry of Defence told BNS.
Launched last year, the operation is aimed at training the country's forces and helping Iraq to establish sustainable defence and security institutions.
Additional two Lithuanian troops have been part of the NATO operation in Iraq since the start of this year, deployed in Baghdad.
Six more Lithuanian troops are based at the Al Asad airbase as part of the US-led operation Inherent Resolve.
